MUTATION - ESOTERIC ORDER OF DEBAUCHERY

With their 2023 demo taking the underground by storm a full-length from Sweden's Mutation was certainly wildly anticipated by all. Bizarre, unhinged and uproarious death metal madness like how it was meant to be no matter how many pale copycats ans scene tourists are to manifest nowadays.

An eerie atmosohere of whispers, howling winds, and dirge-like riffs the would easily befit King Diamond "Dead Gods Exhumation Trance" briefly leads the charge of "Occultation of the Ephemeral Light" that buzzes like a tornado of riffing and distortation into the loveliest of cacophonies. Without any warning "Pestlient Whore" continues along much of the same territory with vocalist N.S genuinely showing what a deranged madman he is. At under three minutes "Sepulchral Possession" has a drums-forward skullbasing along with speed exhibited through each type of guitar working in unison to create utter disharmonic destruction. "Necormantical Holocaust" does not shy away from showing its adoration of the classic Cogumelo sound except as thought a hefty dose of upper was ingested before stepping into that 1980s humid favela recording studio. Finally the title track ends to raucousness with tremolo and a slight hint kf subtle breakdown combined together to brings the disorder to as high a point as possible before savage strings and N.S's vocal insanity leave us waiting in anticipation for the eventual and inevitable next wave of mass destruction.

If this first release is any indication Mutation can and definitely will light the underground on fire if they continue down this ghastly, deranged path. As any element or hint of orginality within death metal can be refreshing and do its job of keeping the listener repeatedly engaged Mutation will have not a damn thing to worry about in keeping their reputation and judgement intact.
